Alphonso Hamilton Obituary

Daisy Lee Cook Hamilton and Joel Hamilton's baby boy, Alphonso Wendell, completed his earthly journey and transition to the heavenly realm on March 9, 2024. There he joined his beloved mother, father and several siblings, while leaving behind many who love and miss him everyday. Two brothers, Ladon and Richard; and one sister Annie Ruth, transitioned ahead of him and stood with open arms in anticipation of his arrival.

Alphonso was born on October 11, 1962 in Greenville, AL. He was baptized at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. High school graduation came in 1981, from Greenville High School. After graduation, he joined the Allied Manufacturing Family where he became an in-demand and respected supervising machinist. After many years, the Allied Plant closed and he relocated to Montgomery further advancing his career as a machinist at Hager Hinge in Hope Hull, Alabama. Finally. he joined ITAT Alabama in Luverne where he worked until beset by illness.

At Allied, he met and fell in love with his beloved Mary Carter. together, they had a son, Langston, of whom AL often described as his finest achievement. When reminiscing about his son, his face would light up.

He leaves to forever embrace his memories: son, Langston Carter, Montgomery, AL,  who supported him awesomely and steadfastly as he prepared to transition.

Brothers,  Walter Hamilton (Annie Nell) Jackson, AL., Joe Lewis Hamilton (Ellen) Greenville, AL,  Jerome Hamilton (Rosie) Columbus GA; sisters,  Joyce West, Greenville, AL, Linda Hamilton, Greenville, AL, Maxine Warren(Brian) Fort Mitchell, AL, Mabelline Hamilton, Greenville, AL, and Nancy Young (Joe) Dephane, AL.
A devoted spiritual mentor and friend LaDonna Brendal.
