Johnnie Lowery Obituary


Ms.  Johnnie Lee Lowery was born on October  8, 1930 to the late Johnny and the Leona Powell. She lived her early years here in Greenville, AL After becoming a young adult, she moved to New Haven, Ct. Johnnie Lee worked at Winchester Gun Factory until she decided to retire. Later she decided to open a home daycare. Johnnie Lee was a true entrepreneur at several skilled trades all while handling the task of being a landlord. She worked hard to make a honest living to raise her family. Johnnie Lee was a  stern leader , exhibiting a very loving nature whenever someone was in in need. She would always go the extra mile to help anyone she could. Johnnie Lee was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church of New Haven. Later she moved back Greenville and rejoined her membership at Indian Hill. Despite being a resident of the  Crowne Rehabilitation Center  Johnnie Lee lived her life to the fullest. She participated in almost all the activities that were held. She currently holds the title of Ms. Crowne Nursing Home of Greenville. This was an honor she was very proud of. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Ruthie Mae ,Leoloa , Carrie Lee, Eula Vee, Earlie Lee, and Roy. Cherishing her precious memories is:  her three sons, Jean Powell and Shawn Lowery (Tabitha) both of Jacksonville Florida, Clint Lowery Sr. of New Haven , Ct. One sister Lillie Pearl Cheatham of Birmingham , Walter and Joe Howard Powell of Ohio Dempsey Powell of Birmingham and Wiley Powell of Greenville. Grandchildren: Clint Jr, Shonasia, Tramont, Emanueal, Nevah,Shawn Ronald, Kenya ,Stephanie , Thomas Jr. and Lisa. 12 great grandchildren ,and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
