Ms. Mary Mathews was born on May 5, 1951 to the late Mr. Sam and Mrs. Rosie Mae Mathews in Greenville, Alabama.
Mary joined Mt. Ida Baptist Church at a early age to show her devotion and belief in Jesus Christ her lord and savior.
She graduated from South-side High School in 1970, then later became a native of Oklahoma City. She attended a Oklahoma college for nursing. She became a member of the New Bethlehem Temple church in Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by her aunt Lou Owens and Catherine Penn .
She leaves to cherish her memories of one son Elton "Moochie" Smith and two daughters Sherrie (Tommy) Dawson, Terrie Smith; (8) grandchildren, all of Edmond, OK.
She shared her life with eight siblings Irene Peterson, Sammie Hamilton, Ellen (Joe) Hamilton, Amie (Willie) Williams, Bertha (Sammy) Hawkins, Jimmy Mathews, Edd
(Sadie) Mathews, and Henry (Martha) Mathews all of Greenville, Alabama ; two step sister of Los Angeles, CA. A very devoted family and host of (16) nieces, (18) nephews and other relatives and friends.
