Mr. Curtis Kemp Jr. Obituary

     Curtis Kemp Jr., was born on April 13, 1939 to Curtis Kemp Sr. and Viola Carthon Butler County, Alabama.

     He was called home on December 17, 2019 at Crown Health Care and Rehabilitation in Greenville, AL.

     He was proceeded in death by his parents: Curtis and Viola Kemp, his sons: Curtis Wayne Kemp, Frederick Lane Kemp, his sister: Vera Page, his grandparents and a companion Helen Bryant.

He attended Greenville Training School. During his early years of life he was employed as a logger with “Owen Brothers Logging Company.”

Curtis was a very fun and humorous person. Many young people looked forward to being in his presence because of the jokes and great laughter he always shared with them. To many friends he was known as “Ole Dude”, “Jake the Snake”, “Ray Lucas”, “Banner Check” and “White Silver Satin.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Veronica (Michael) McNeil, Donnie (Vickie) Kemp, of Greenville, AL; Willie Frank Kemp, Felicia Ann Kemp of Detroit, Michigan; Darreyl (Raquetta) Kemp of Birmingham, AL; one sister: Mary Kemp of Montgomery, AL; one brother: Willie James (Dorothy) Kemp of Ocala, FL; sixteen grandchildren: James (Naomi) Smith, Luverne, AL; Demario (Keisha) Simpson, Brantley, AL; Mya J. McNeil very devoted caregiver, Demetria M. Simpson, Santinia Burnett, Layla M. Powell, Jay Bennett and Talia Lewis all of Greenville, AL.; Tiffany Crenshaw, Montgomery, AL.; Breanna Cooks, RaKieya Kemp, Derrius Kemp all of Birmingham, AL.; Charity Kemp, DeShondra Kemp, Jessica Kemp, Curtis Kemp, and Christopher Kemp all of Detroit, MI.; seven great-grandchildren: JaKira A. Cherry a devoted caregiver, Greenville, AL., Ja’Derious Smith, Antavious McMillian, Aderion Foster, all of Luverne, AL., Kymora Goldsmith, Montgomery, AL.; Jayla Kemp, Mario Frasier, Detroit, MI; sister-n-law: Willie Nell Riley of Birmingham, AL.; a very devoted caregiver, Willie Belle Kemp of Greenville, AL.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
