Ms. Anna Lee Powell was born May 21, 1951 in Butler County. Anna's sunset is May 4, 2020 at Baptist South Medical Center; she was 68. Anna was born to the late Ms. Alberta Powell and Mr. Young Columbus Smith. Anna gave her life to Christ at an early age. She later decided to become a member of the Rocky Mount Missionary Baptist Church.
Anna dedicated her life to caring for others and helping to rear children. She enjoyed being around family and watching documentaries.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Key (sister), Joel Betty (brother), and Sally Ann Key, her devoted niece.
Anna is survived by her sister, Linda Smith; brothers, Earl Smith, and Alfred Powell; nieces; Stephanie Ford, Ethel Key, Melina Key-Andrews, and Latasha Key. She also has three loving nephews Keith, Andre, and Lekevia Key. Anna has an extended family that she loved and lived with for nearly 40 years. She leaves to cherish Mrs. Pearline Stewart who was like a mother figure to Anna. God-sisters; Lydedra (Lee) Loveless, Jennifer (Cleophus) Dunklin, Sheniece Stewart, and Sallie (Marvin) Davidson. She also leaves three God-brothers; Anthony Warren, Calvin (Jennifer) Stewart, and Castillo (Brittney) Stewart. Anna has three special God children that she loved as her own; Castillo Stewart, Cleshun Dunklin, and Marterrious Davidson. Anna has a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends that she loved dearly. She also has three devoted friends; Jessie Lee McNeil, Diana Nickerson, and Ann Thomas.
