Deacon Charlie Hilson Jr. Known to many as “Buck” a pioneer of the Forest Home Community was born on November 21, 1937 to the late Charlie Hilson Sr. and Martha Grace Hilson .
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Ridgeville Baptist Church where he served faithfully and sang in the church choir. Later he joined the Jerusalem Baptist church and Herbert Temple Holiness church; he was faithful to both churches until the building became unstable, and his health began to fail him.
He was married to the late Mrs. Clara Hilson and to this union 2 children was born, Mary and James Hilson.
He was an extremely good truck driver. He worked for Joe Arnold Logging for over 40 years as a license log truck driver.
He took pride in being a Mason, a father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and buddy to many people.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, his son James, his kid’s mothers, Willie C. Moorer, Louise Demings and Deloise Scott; Pastors: Elder Hattie Suggs and Elder George Hardy.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories children and grandchildren: Mary (Hanna) Brown of Greenville, AL; Mary’s children: Eric (Tyronda) Hilson and Kikoman (James) Wiley both of Greenville, Al; Donna M. Ceaser (Teryl Myles) Dutch Bend, Al; her daughter, Tiffany M. (Roy) Brooks, Honoraville, AL; Russell Demings, Greenville, AL; Kimberly Scott, Braggs, AL; her children, DeAvonce & Demarrio Scott both of Braggs, AL; 11 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Diana (Willie) Payton of Forest Home. AL; god daughter & friend, Linda & Annie Thomas of Selma, AL; Close friends of Charlie Hilson Jr., Harold McKee, Georgiana, AL; Harold Carter, Braggs Hill, AL; Jonathan Sanders, Dutch Bend, AL. Virginia McPherson, Mia Moorer, Ruby Coleman of Selma, AL; a host of nieces, nephews other relative and friend.
