Charlie Ray

Charlie J Ray was born January 11, 1949 in Butler County, Alabama to the late Shelly and Elnora Thompson Ray.

    At an early age he united with the Union Missionary Baptist Church. He attended school in Butler County, Alabama.

He met and married Fannie L Marsh. To this union three children was born.

    One son, Roderick J Ray and a brother, Clarence Ray preceded him in death.

    He departed this life on September 27, 2019 at Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama.

    He leaves to cherish his memory: wife: Fannie L Ray; three  children: Lamonica Ray and Cassaundra Ray both of Rochester,  NY; and Katrina Marsh, Greenville, AL;  nine grandchildren: three great grandchildren; three sisters:  Shirley Moorer, Annie Jean Webb and Sarah Ann Ray all of Greenville, Alabama, one brother: David Earl Ray of Cleveland, Ohio; two aunts: Mrs. Angeline Taylor and Mrs. Janie Frost both of Greenville, Alabama;  one uncle: Mr. Albert Thompson of Greenville, Alabama, three sisters-in-laws: Mary (John) Maxwell, Rachael (Ernest) Wilson and Mattie Marsh; two brothers-in-law: Nathaniel Poole of Rochester, New York and Bruce Marsh of Montgomery, Alabama;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a close friend: Mr. Ollie Marsh.
