Eric Thompson

      Eric Terrell Thompson was born June 19th 1982 to the late Robert Ray and Velisa Coleman Byrd. He attended Greenville and Luverne Public Schools. He is an alumni of Luverne High School Class of 2000. After graduation from high school, he was employed by several companies most   notable was Wiley Sanders Trucking Company Troy, Alabama. He was employed there for 13 years until his death. He was known as being a loyal hard-working man. His family was the center of his world. He was the oldest grandchild of his Grandma “Alice.”

       Eric Terrell joined Union Missionary Baptist Church Honoraville, AL. at a very young age under the leadership of Pastor L. C. Lewis. He served as a Junior Usher, Youth Choir Member and wherever he was needed within the youth department.

      Eric Terrell departed his life on August 6th 2021 at the Troy Regional Medical Center with some family members at his bed side.

      Eric Terrell was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ray; grandparents,  Willie J (Lucille) Ray and Alice J. Thompson.

      Eric Terrell is mourned by one daughter, Ayanna Jazzelle Thompson, Troy, AL; mother, Velisa Coleman (Roy) Byrd, Luverne AL; two brothers, Demario Thompson, Quinton Lamar Thompson, both of Luverne, AL; one sister, Sharonda Nicole Thompson Calhoun, AL; fiancée, Heaven Taylor; two boys he raised as his own, Ricky and Blake Taylor all of Troy, AL; two step sisters, Kemekia Byrd McSwain and Kesha Byrd of Troy, AL.  A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
