Joshua (Joe) Blankenship was born on June 14, 1955 in Pineapple, Alabama to the late Robert Sr. and Allie Mae Blankenship.

Preceding him in death are the following siblings: Willie Blankenship, Charlie Blankenship, Laura Partin, Barbara Beck, Mary Pope, Robert Blankenship Jr, Annie Pearl Blankenship and Sallie Mae Blankenship.

He leaves to cherish his memories 4 siblings and their spouses: Annie Lois (Willie ) Mims, Lillie (Aundrea) Dale all of Pine Apple, Alabama; Nelson (Charlene) Blankenship of Westland, Michigan and Simon (Michelle) Blankenship of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
