Mr. Curtis Hall Obituary

Curtis came into this world on October 14, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky to his proud parents the late Mae Lean and Joseph M. Hall. His life began during the Baby Boomers era. Curtis was tickled to know that three Presidents (William Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Donald J. Trump) were all born that same year. However, he was not a President, he knew his life was destined to do great things with the help of God’s guidance, “For it is God who directs our path”. (Prov. 16:9) The family relocated to Georgiana, Alabama in 1948. Curtis received his education from Georgiana public schools. As a very young man he left home and went to New York City, where he found employment picking apples. He soon moved to Florida after discovering he did not like picking apples. 1965 he returned back to Alabama to later relocate with his parents to Edgewood, MD. 1966, Curtis left Maryland and moved to Detroit, MI, where he found employment at Ford Motor Company. After working there for several days he discovered that factory working was too confining for him, therefore, he decided to seek another profession. Curtis attended and completed United Systems Transportation, Truck Driving School, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon graduation he obtained employment with Magra Trucking Company. Curtis enjoyed driving his eighteen wheeler truck until he eventually retired after 40 years. Curtis accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Long Creek Baptist Church, Georgiana, AL. 1983 he later united with First Glory Baptist Church, Detroit, MI. While attending First Glory, Curtis joined the Men’s Ministry and sang in the Male Choir. He had three songs he enjoyed singing: I’m So Grateful, I am Glad I found Jesus in Time, and I’m Going Home on the Morning Train; which he raised his hand saying “I got my ticket in my hand”. 1970, Curtis met his young wife Clarece McCaskill. They united under holy matrimony in 1982, where they were blessed with a son. Curtis was a loving Son, Father, Brother, Brother-in-Law, and a Friend to many people. Curtis enjoyed spending time with his family. When his parents were alive, he faithfully visited them twice per year. If time permitted he would visit in August to attend his Mother’s birthday party at the beach. He loved his siblings and cherished that special bond he had with them. Curtis had a very close relationship with his In-Laws in Mississippi. He was loved by them very much. They treated him more like a son/brother rather than an in-law. Curtis made his transition on Monday December 30, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital, Curtis is elated to be united with his daughter Maria (Twiggy) Hall, Mother, (Mae Lean), Father, (Joseph Hall), Brothers, Harold G. Hall, William “Bruce” Hall, and Joseph “Raymond” Hall, Sister, Gwendolyn “ Shang” Hall, and Niece, Taylora “Michele” Hall. He leaves behind his faithful, loving, and devoted wife, Clarece Hall, two Sons, Curtis Jr. (Sharon), Derrick C. Hall, (Bianca), two Grandchildren, Dayvon and Sofia, One Great Grandson Braylin, Two Sisters, Jacqueline Kelly, (John), Ruth M. Hall, Linda E. Kelley, (Winfield) Cynthia J. Watson, Sandra Hall-Wilson, (Orville), and Akua “Nikki” Hall (Rodrick); finally a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends and In-Laws, three In-Laws he cherished most “Stan The Man, Kelley, and Mr. Lee and his First Glory Baptist Church Family.
