Mrs. Claretta Powell, was born on August 03, 1953 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Anna Hayes Crenshaw and Wilbert Crenshaw Sr. Her parents and brothers Ervin, Wilbert, Willie, Leon, and Wilson Crenshaw preceded her in death.
On March 31, 1979 she dedicated her life to Jehovah. After her baptism, she demonstrated a lifetime of loyalty to Jehovah God.
In 1969, she married James Powell Sr. They cherished 52 years together and raised four children. They became spiritual “parents and grandparents to a host of children.”
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, James Powell Sr. of Greenville, Alabama; one brother, O’neal Crenshaw of Greenville, Alabama, two sister-in-laws, Emma Jean Powell and Martha Jones of Greenville, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Ray Teart of Fort Deposit, Alabama; one son, James (Noi) Powell of Dallas, Georgia; three daughters, Stephanie Powell of Montgomery, Alabama, Naomi Powell of Greenville, Alabama, and Annjaetta (Will) Cannon of Villa Rica, Georgia. Eight grandchildren Nicholas, Joi, Cyrus, Ambree, Javon, Jazlynn, William, and Alexandria. A host of nephews and nieces.
