Willie Herman Boggan better known as “Ham Bone” was born May 13, 1951 in Forest Home, Alabama to the late Johnny Mack Lewis and the late Ima Lee Lewis. During his childhood he went to live and was raised by his uncle and aunt, the late George and Mary Ella Peagler.
He attended Greenville Training School. During his young adulthood he logged with his uncle, George Peagler and later became a family farmer.
He met and married Joyce Ann Morris of Forest Home, Alabama. To this union ten children was born.
He departed this life on April 4, 2020.
He leave to cherish his memories a loving wife: Joyce Ann Boggan; children: Betty Ann Boggan, Kenneth (Katreia) Boggan, Brenda (Therron) Edwards, Earnestine (Tyler) Tibbs, Norman Boggan, Timothy Boggan, Jamie Boggan, Jeffrey Boggan, Justin Boggan and Michelle (Josh) Davidson; 23 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Shirley Ann (Tony) Phillip, Debra (Steve) Perry of Abilene, TX and Jacqueline Perdue of Midland, TX.; mother-in-law, Mrs. Katie Simmons; sisters-in-law, Mary Simmons of Greenville, AL; and Willie Lou Bowen of Montgomery, AL; Brothers-in-law, Johnny Simmons, Jimmy Simmons, Sammy Ollison, Henry Simmons and Milton Simmons all of Greenville, AL; Charlie Morris of Valdosta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Willie had four cousins that was raised close to him like brothers and sisters: the late Lovie J. Peagler, Lizzie Fore, Detroit, MI; Willie (Juanita) Boggan and Betty Wilkerson both of Greenville, Alabama. Willie has a multitude of family and close friends that are going to miss him, Jimmy Lee Herbert and Harold Wilkerson.
