Willie Scott

Willie Lee “Billy” Scott, son of the late Rev. Cliff Daniels “C.D.” Scott and Mrs. Rebecca Stephens Scott  was born on December 22, 1946. He was raised in love by Rev. C.D. Scott and Mrs. Ethel B. Scott.

Willie attended Greenville Training School in Greeneville, AL. Post graduation, he was gainfully employed throughout his life, including by Beb Co. A believer in redemption, Willie was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church, and an ordained deacon at Abraham Baptist Church. Willie worked to be a loving and supportive father and provider to all his children and grandchildren. Willie departed this life on Thursday, August 12 after a long and hard fought battle.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stanley Scott, father, Rev. C.D., mother, Rebecca, brother, Robert “Pony” Scott, and sister, Ethel Ree Rankins.

Willie Lee Scott’s memory is survived by his daughters, Mary (Robert) Thompson, Elaine (Kenneth) Womack, Lanell (Carlos) Shanklin, LaSonjia Warren, Stacy (Damian) Brown, Kimberly M. Scott, and Ashley Brown. He will continue to be appreciated by his children through marriage, Kalvan Lewis, Karen Lewis, and Cynthia Scott. Willie was grandfather to 13, Sebastian, Bennie, and Donterrio Lewis, Chiquita Kibler and Kenneth Devon Womack, Wellington Shanklin, Shanequoah, Shantasha, Shantisha, & Kevin Warren, Aaron & Evan Brown, and Acacia Scott, as well as Fox, River Phoenix, Catalina, & Autumn Rain Scott. Willie was a great-grandfather to 7.

Willie is mourned by many, including his sisters, Annie Lee Gregory, Rebecca Gregory, Lucy Flowers, Anna B. Williams, Brenda Lee Wilson, Lizzy Hinson, Deborah Haywood. Willie is remembered fondly by his brothers, Jimmy Lee Scott, Willie Lee Mixon, Lester Scott, Pastor Ricky Scott, Deacon Michael Scott, and Pastor Marvin Scott.
